Remove bamboo from home garden
The bamboo plant, although beautiful to look at, is also a very difficult plant to get rid of, no matter what you choose. Fortunately, this is not impossible. We chemically damage it by the following steps:
👉Cut the bamboo close to the ground and wait for the bamboo shoots to grow.
Herbicides will not be effective if the bamboo stalks have grown. Cut the bamboo in late winter so you can use the herbicide to kill new shoots in late spring or early summer.
👉Cut off the underground stems of the bamboo below the ground when the shoots start to grow back. Cut off as many subterranean trunk segments as possible.
👉Spray glyphosate herbicide on leaves, branches and bamboo shoots.
The herbicide glyphosate only kills plants that come into direct contact with the drug. Remember to only spray on bamboo, do not pour glyphosate herbicide on the ground around the bamboo, as this will have no effect.
👉Also, you can use chemicals to kill roots and stumps.
Another way to kill bamboo is to cut off the stalks, then apply a root and stump chemical containing glyphosate or triclopyr to the leaves of regrown shoots and cut stumps.
👉Repeat the above process.
One treatment will not be able to eliminate the bamboo invasion. As the bamboo continues to grow shoots, you will have to continue to spray herbicides on the leaves, stems, and buds to get the right amount of control. When using any herbicide, be sure to read the directions on the package carefully. Some guidelines may be very different from the advice in this article.
Wish you more and more success!
