How to completely remove a plant from the garden (Part 2)
In part 1 we learned "How to completely remove a plant from the garden.
In addition, it has a few other ways as follows:
-Use a chain to pull the bush up from the ground. Another way to deal with less digging is to wrap the chain around the base of the tree and pull it out of the ground with a jack or trailer.
This process will be easier if you can use a pickaxe to dig down the roots a little to pry them out of the soil.
- Kill shrubs with chemicals. Cut off most of the bush, leaving only a short stump above the ground. Purchase a chemical insecticide containing glyphosate from a garden supply store.
This method needs to be done soon after the tree is cut, and does not work with old stumps that are perennial in the garden. You need to be careful when working and follow the manufacturer's instructions.
Treat the stump during the fall and winter, when the tree doesn't have much sap yet. You may need to drill a hole in the base of the tree to pour the potion in.
You have to be very patient, because the stump can take a long time to die and will not grow a new tree right away.
-Find if anyone wants to take your shrubs. You are trying to get rid of the tree, but maybe someone will like the tree.
You could try posting an ad on your local bulletin boards to see if someone is asking for a tree and is willing to dig it up and take it away.
Here are some suggestions, good luck. If you need help, contact GREEN ARBOR LANDSCAPING (206) 265-2940.
