Concrete retaining wall in garden.

Retaining walls hold strong, durable and long-lasting, but require careful preparation .
Basic steps to get a bored concrete wall that you should know
👉1: Plan for a wall that is at least 12 inches wide at the top, with a foundation slab or toe that is at least 50 percent as wide as it is tall.
👉2: Dig a trench the length of the wall with a shovel..
Add an additional base of 6 or more inches of gravel if the soil is sandy or not hard.Fill the foot with concrete and let it cure for about a week.
👉3: Choose one of four wall types: gravity; semi-gravity; cantilever; and vice versa.
👉4: Create forms with wooden boards and 2-by-4-inch orientation boards.
👉5: Coat the inside of the forms with mineral oil so the concrete will not stick. Add any rebar as needed. Test with a level to make sure the forms are level and cumbersome.
👉6: Pour concrete in .
Rent a concrete truck or dump a wheelbarrow for small walls, removing any internal bracing once the concrete reaches that level. Smooth the top of the wall with a mason's trowel when the appropriate height is reached.
👉7: Leave the wall for a week, then remove the form.
Place a layer of gravel or perforated sewer pipes at the bottom of the back of the wall to drain the water. Cover with soil, compacting it .
