Basic ways in which plants reproduce (Part 1)

Let's take a look at what plants need to be healthy and alive:

👉 The light: Sunlight is essential for them.

It's something you can't miss any time, as they need it for photosynthesis, a process by which they convert that solar energy into their food (especially carbohydrates and starches).
Also, in this process, its leaves absorb carbon dioxide (CO2) and release oxygen (O2), which as we know is a gas that we need to breathe. But some don't: ferns, maples, bromeliads (except those that live in dry climates), orchids, etc.
👉Water: Without water, no living thing can exist.
For plants, it is absolutely necessary because it is a liquid, when in contact with minerals in the soil, plants can access them.
But if we give plants more than they need, their roots will literally suffocate; Their pores become clogged and as a result are deprived of oxygen. Symptoms: rotting, leaves turn yellow and then brown starting from the oldest leaves, flower drop, ...
IMPORTANT NOTE: Leaves cannot absorb water directly. So it is not necessary to get them wet, or they will rot.
👉Air: This is a topic that often creates a lot of confusion.
Plants need air to breathe, and provide oxygen.
But in addition, there are many species that use the wind to have their flowers pollinated, and/or to have their seeds carried as far as possible from their parents.
Besides water, light, air, what else? In fact, yes. Let's learn more in the article "Basic ways in which plants reproduce (Part 2)"
